Jesus Came with an Invitation to Transformation

Mark Estepp - 2/5/2023

Matthew 4:17

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Repent: Total transformation of your way of life as the result of a complete change of belief, thought, attitude, and behavior.

You have been shaped and formed by:

What you believe (Narratives)

What you do (Habits)

Who you are influenced by (People)

What you are in (Environment)

Jesus came with an invitation to transformation

2 Corinthians 3:18a

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Why transformation?

The kingdom of heaven has come near.

How can I experience transformation?

Matthew 4:18 - 22

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

John 14:16 - 17a

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth.”

Transformation is to experience life with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus taught us to do.

Our Vision is to see the transformation of people and places through Jesus.

Our Vision is as big as what God can do through transforming you.
